NCERT has announced online applications for admission to the one-year Diploma course for the training of professionals in guidance and counseling. The course aims at enhancing the skills and competencies of teachers to promote the holistic development of pupils and handle their academic, socio-emotional, and ethical problems.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organization that was established by the Government of India in the year 1961. The major of the foundation is to assist the Central and State Governments with Policies and Programmes to improve School Education. It is to undertake, coordinate and promote research in areas of School Education and to Prepare and publish textbooks, newsletters, journals, and educational materials furthermore for the schools.
Further details related to admission are given below:
Duration of course: 1 year, divided into three phases as given below:

Phase I | Guided Self-learning | 6 months (Distance) (January – June 2023) |
Phase II | Intensive Practicum | 3 months (Face-to-Face) (July – September 2023) |
Phase III | Internship | 3 months (in Home Town) (October – December 2023) |
Eligibility:
- In-service teachers– graduates with a teaching degree.
- Candidates ‘presently not working’ – graduation with a teaching degree and at least two years of teaching or related experience.
- Postgraduates in psychology /education /social work/child development/special education. Preference will be given to those with at least one year of teaching or related experience.
- The minimum Percentage of marks for all target groups is 50% (5% relaxation for SC/ST).
Maximum Number of Seats: 50 (Per Study Centre)
The medium of Instruction: The medium of instruction for the course is English and Hindi.
