The opening date for submitting the application form is October 07, 2023. The closing date (Without late fee) for the application form is October 31, 2023. With late fee, the last date to apply for admission is November 06, 2023.

About Ph.D. Program

Eligibility Criteria to AMU Admission
Candidates will be eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D. Programs, if they get passed in a subject that is relevant to their proposed area of research:
To be eligible for this program, candidates need to have completed either a one-year master’s degree after a four-year bachelor’s degree, a two-year master’s degree after a three-year bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent master’s degree, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade on a grading scale.
OR
M.Phil. Program with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.
OR
A 4-year bachelor’s degree Programme with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.
Application Fee Details
The fee structure in AMU is as follows:
- For Indian National: Rs.850/-
- For Foreign National: Rs.8200/-
Admission Criteria at AMU
The selection of the applicants for Ph.D. program will be made through an admission test comprising a written test and a presentation-cum-interview.
Candidates who qualify for fellowship/ scholarship in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET / GATE / CEED and similar National level tests with a score more than or equal to the qualifying marks of the General Category, valid at the time of admission, are exempted from appearing in the written test. However, they must appear in the presentation-cum- interview in person to become eligible for selection.
Foreign Nationals are exempted from attempting the written test. However, they need to appear in the presentation-cum-interview in person or via video conferencing person to be eligible for admission.
