Applications are available for the admission to MA Psychology program at Aligarh Muslim University. The admissions are for the session 2024-25. Before applying, you should read the detailed information given below regarding the eligibility, application process, and the university.

Aligarh Muslim University has a great position amongst the universities and institutions of higher education in the nation. It commenced in 1920. This university ranks 8th among the top 20 Research Institutions in India.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates, who have completed their BA /BSc in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate will be eligible to apply for MA Psychology at AMU.

Age Limit and Intakes

Candidates should not exceed the upper age of 27 Years as on 1st July in the year of admission.

There are 40 intakes available for the MA Psychology program at AMU.

Exam Pattern

There will be a total of 80 questions in the examination. There will be total 100 marks in the examination. 70 questions will be objective-type MCQs carrying 70 Marks. And 10 questions will be short answer type questions carrying 30 Marks.

Selection Process

The selection of the candidates will be based on the departmental test. The test will be conducted at Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) only.

The application fee for MA Psychology is ₹800/- at AMU.

Application Process

To apply for MA Psychology course at AMU, candidates need to visit the official website of Aligarh Muslim University via the link mentioned below. There, they need to register as a new user. Once you register, you will get the credentials in your mail to login to the admission portal of AMU. You do not need to create different credentials for applying to multiple programs.

Step 1

After login to the portal, you will have the dashboard of the application. There you will find many options at the top of the application form. You need to provide your personal information like your name, parents details, gender etc.

Step 2

In step 2, you are to provide the details of your educational qualifications.

Step 3

In step 3, you have to upload necessary documents like your photo, picture of your signature, and the photo of your thumb impression.

Step 4

After uploading your documents, in step 3, you have to provide category information if you belong to any special category.

Step 5

After this, you need to upload the following documents on the website.

  1. Scanned copy of date of birth certificate/High School Certificate of the candidate.
  2. Scanned copy of Marks-sheet / grade-sheet of qualifying examination. (If the Marks-sheet / grade-sheet of qualifying examination is not available, candidates should upload the Marks-sheet / grade-sheet of the preceding year)
  3. Scanned copy of documents in support of claim under special category, if any (applicable only for SM,DR and PH categories)
  4. Scanned copy of No Objection Certificate from the employer, if employed at present

Note: Students should upload all the documents in JPG or JPEG format only. The size of each document should be between 200KB to 2MB.

Step 6

After all these are done, you have to make the payment of the application fee. Candidates should note that without payment of application fee, the application will be incomplete and they will have to re apply for this.

Note: The fee can be paid through UPI /Net Banking /Debit Card /Credit Card and follow the instructions as shown on the website to make payment.

Important Instructions

  1. Make sure that you are filling the correct information as no corrections will be allowed once the application form is submitted.
  2. You do not need to send the documents to the university through post /fax /By Hand.
  3. If the amount of application fee is deducted from the candidate’s account and does not reflect on applications dashboard, then it will be considered as an incomplete application.
  4. Candidates should keep the printed copy of the application for future reference.
