About AMU
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a well-known public university in India with a strong academic reputation. Eligibility Criteria
BA /BSc in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate from a UGC recognized University.
Age Limit and Intakes
Candidates should not exceed the upper age of 27 Years as of 1st July 2025.
Exam Pattern
There will be a total of 80 questions in the examination. There will be a total of 100 marks in the examination. 70 questions will be objective-type MCQs carrying 70 Marks. And 10 questions will be short-answer type questions carrying 30 Marks.
Selection Process
The selection of the candidates will be based on the departmental test. The test will be conducted at Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) only.

To apply for the MA Psychology course at AMU, candidates need to visit the official website of Aligarh Muslim University via the link mentioned below. There, they need to register as a new user. Once you register, you will get the credentials in your email to log in to the admission portal of AMU. You do not need to create different credentials to apply to multiple programs.

Step 1
After login to the portal, you will have the dashboard of the application. There you will find many options at the top of the application form. You need to provide your personal information like your name, parents details, gender etc.
Step 2
In step 2, you are to provide the details of your educational qualifications.
Step 3
In step 3, you have to upload necessary documents like your photo, a picture of your signature, and the photo of your thumb impression.
Step 4
After uploading your documents, in step 3, you have to provide category information if you belong to any special category.
Step 5
After this, you need to upload the following documents on the website.
- Scanned copy of date of birth certificate/High School Certificate of the candidate.
- Scanned copy of Marks-sheet / grade-sheet of qualifying examination. (If the marks sheet / grade-sheet of the qualifying examination is not available, candidates should upload the marks sheet / grade-sheet of the preceding year)
- Scanned copy of documents in support of claim under special category, if any (applicable only for SM, DR and PH categories)
- Scanned copy of No Objection Certificate from the employer, if employed at present
Note: Students should upload all the documents in JPG or JPEG format only. The size of each document should be between 200KB and 2 MB.
Step 6
After all these are done, you have to make the payment of the application fee. Candidates should note that without payment of application fee, the application will be incomplete and they will have to re-apply for this.
Note: The fee can be paid through UPI /Net Banking /Debit Card /Credit Card and follow the instructions as shown on the website to make payment.

Yes, students with any bachelor’s degree can apply to AMU.
2. Can we edit the application after submission?
No. Make sure that you are filling in the correct information, as no corrections will be allowed once the application form is submitted.
3. Should I send the application or document via courier?
You do not need to send the documents to the university through post /fax /By Hand. Fill in all the details online only.
4. Will my CUET PG score work at AMU?
No, you need to fill out and appear for AMU entrance separately. The CUET PG score will not be considered at AMU.
