A big update for students who want to apply at the University of Delhi for the Master’s in Psychology program. On 16th January 2024, the University of Delhi announced that candidates who have completed their Bachelor’s in Psychology under any stream can apply for MA Psychology or MA Applied Psychology there. Other details regarding the notice and university are as follows.
Delhi University (DU) is a public college university in New Delhi, India. The University of Delhi has grown to become India’s largest, most popular, and one of the world’s largest higher education institutions. The institute offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs including Psychology and Applied Psychology.
Eligibility Criteria for DU
Courses: MA Psychology and MA Applied Psychology
The candidates who have completed the qualifications mentioned below are eligible to apply at the University of Delhi.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a Recognized University
- B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology /Applied Psychology from the University of Delhi
- B.A. (Hons.) with minimum 2 courses /papers in Psychology from the University of Delhi
Note: 50% of the total seats at DU for the Master’s program are reserved for the students of Delhi University. Candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree (eligibility 1) are eligible to apply at DU for unreserved seats. Remaining candidates, who have completed their Bachelor’s (Hons) in Psychology or Applied Psychology (Eligibility 2 and 3) can apply for reserved or unreserved seats at DU.
Application Process
University of Delhi falls under the Common Universities Entrance Tests (CUET PG) entrance exam. CUET PG is a nationwide accepted entrance exam that opens a single window for students to get into a postgraduate program in their preferred university or college. To apply for entrance to the University of Delhi, you have to register for CUET PG entrance exams.

Exam Pattern of CUET PG Entrance
Generally, there are 100 questions in the CUET PG Entrance exam that contain General Paper questions and subject-specific questions (like Psychology). But in CUET PG 2024, there will be 75 subject-specific questions. There will not be General Paper questions.
The paper will carry 300 marks in total. This is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) that will be conducted at various centers across the nation. The duration of attending this examination is 105 minutes (1 Hour 45 Minutes). The exam will be conducted in 3 Shifts.
