Bharathiar University, Coimbatore has announced its Ph.D. Psychology admissions for the November 2024 session. The applicants can apply for Full-Time and Part-Time research in various disciplines, including Psychology. The Applications are invited at the University department, Affiliated Colleges in the Districts of Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur and Nilgiris and Recognized Research Institutions.
About University
Bharathiar University, established in 1982 by the Government of Tamil Nadu, is located on a serene 780-acre campus at the foot of the Maruthamalai Hills, 12 km from Coimbatore. Recognized by the UGC in 1985, the university oversees 142 affiliated colleges across Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tirupur, and Erode. Its campus houses 13 schools, 37 research departments, a library, an internet centre, hostels, and administrative offices. Known for its experienced faculty, the university offers various postgraduate and research programmes including Psychology.
Educational Qualification Required for PhD Psychology
- A Master’s degree in Psychology with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from a recognized institution.
- For SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and other reserved categories, a relaxation of 5% is applicable.
Admission Process:
November 2024 PhD (Full-time/Part-time) admission will be made on the basis of the Common Entrance Test (CET) marks obtained in June 2024, the interview marks and the Rules and Regulations of Bharathiar University.
Note: Candidates with an M.Phil. in Psychology or equivalent qualifications like UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE/SET/Teacher Fellowships are exempted from the Common Entrance Test (CET).

- Application Period: November 28, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
Candidates have to pay the cost of application(₹1000/-) for each programme through Online mode only. (for SC/ST ₹500/-).
If the applicant wants to apply for more than one College /University Department, have to pay the application fee for each application.
