BHU PhD Psychology Admission 2024: Available Seats

The university has allocated 13 seats for the RET Mode and 9 seats for the RET-Exempted Mode for 2024-25 admissions. Admission Categories

Admission to PhD Psychology course at BHU is based on the following two categories:

1. RET-Exempted Category

Candidates with valid JRF certification from UGC or equivalent are eligible to apply directly under this category. Admission will be based on an interview (100% weightage).

2. RET Mode

The following candidates are eligible for RET Mode:

(i) Category 1: JRF-qualified candidates.

(ii) Category 2: Candidates qualified for Assistant Professorship without JRF.

(iii) Category 3: Candidates neither qualified for JRF nor for Assistant Professorship but eligible for admission to PhD only.

Note: Only the scores of the NET Examination of June 2024 shall be taken into account for admission to PhD programmes for the academic year 2024- 25.

Selection structure

The selection will be based on only the interview score for the RET Exempted category. For RET Mode, admission will be based on NET Score and Interview, details are given in the below table.

Interview:

RET- Exempted: All JRF-qualified candidates will be called for an interview.
RET Mode: 10 candidates shall be called for each seat available in different categories (General, SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwBD) separately based on their NET Psychology score.

Reservations

BHU follows the Government of India’s reservation policy for admissions:

  • SC: 15%
  • ST: 7.5%
  • OBC-NCL: 27%
  • EWS: 10%
  • PwBD: 5% (Horizontal Reservation)

Candidates must provide valid certificates to avail themselves of these reservations.
