Applications are invited in the prescribed format for admission to the Department of Psychology, University of Calcutta (UCSTA, 92, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Road, Kolkata-700009) for Ph.D. Course and subsequent research work for obtaining the Ph.D. degree in Psychology.
Candidates who wish to pursue research work in the Department should apply in the prescribed application form (obtainable from the Department of Psychology/can be downloaded from the university website) and by paying Rs. 100.00 through a challan (obtainable from Cash Counter in Raja bazaar Science College Campus and College Street Campus).
The number of vacant seats will be 17.
The duly filled application form must reach the office of the Head of the Department within 23/03/2020.
The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written examination of 2 hours, to be held in the Department on 30th March 2020 (11.00 AM to 1.00 PM).
The results of the written test will be published on 2nd April 2020 (After 12.00 PM). The successful candidates will be called for an interview on 2nd April, 2020 (After 12.30 PM). The candidates selected on the basis of the interview will be considered as Probationary Ph.D. students of this department.
The syllabus of this examination is the UGC NET (Paper II and III) on Psychology and the existing syllabus of M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology, University of Calcutta.
The candidates who have already passed UGC (JRF) examination/NET/SET/SLET /Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil in Psychology or equivalent examinations need not appear for the written examination.
