Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Professors (college cadre) Group-B in various subjects including Psychology under the Department of Higher Education, Govt of Haryana.

This is a great opportunity for psychology students who have completed their master’s degree in Psychology. Candidates who qualify for this exam will serve as Assistant Professors and will be considered Group-B employees under the Government of Haryana.

ESSENTIALQLIALIFICATION: HPSC Psychology Assistant Professor

Candidates should meet the following eligibility criteria for the post of Assistant Professor (College Cadre):

  1. A master’s degree in Psychology with at least 55% from a recognized university.
  2. Knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit up to Matric standard or in Higher Education.

And

Candidate should have qualified for the NET examination conducted by the UGC or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.

Or

Who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil / Ph.D Degree) Regulation, 2009 or 2016, and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Exam Pattern

A. Screening Test (if Applicable)

  1. Total number of Questions: 100 MQCs
  2. Duration of Exam: 02 Hours
  3. Total Marks: 100
  4. Each question will be 5 options (A, B, C, D, and E)

Note: If a candidate is attempting a question, she/he shall have to darken the appropriate circle A, B, C, or D and if not attempting a question then, she/he shall have to darken the E circle. If none of the five circles is darkened, one-fourth (0.25) mark shall be deducted.

5. Any candidate not darkening any of the five circles in more than 10% of questions shall be disqualified.

6. There will be a negative marking of ¼ for wrong answers

7. The Medium of exam will be in English and Hindi

B. Subject Knowledge Test

  • Total duration: 03 HoursTotal marks: 150

  • Medium of Exam will be English and Hindi

  • The weightage of the subject knowledge test will be 87.5%.

C. Interview/Viva-Voce

  • The weightage of the interview will be 12.5%.

  • The final merit list will be prepared by adding the marks of the subject knowledge test and interview/viva voce.
  • The marks obtained by the candidates in the screening test will not be counted for final selection because it is only for short listing of candidates, for the subject knowledge test.

Pay Scale: ₹57,700 – ₹182,400/- (Academic level)

Age Limit:

Candidate should not be less than 21 years old and not more than 42 years, as on before the 15 days of the month next preceding the last date of submission of application to the Commission i.e. 15.07.2024.
