West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board has announced the online applications of JEMAS (PG) for session 2023. The JEMAS (PG) includes 26 post-Graduation programs. It also includes the Entrance Examination for M. Phil Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kolkata. Further details regarding the admission are as follows.
The Institute of Psychiatry, Kolkata is a government-run mental health institution in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The institute is one of the oldest psychiatric hospitals in the country. It is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and the University of Calcutta and is also recognized as a center of excellence by the Government of India. IOP, Kolkata offers various courses in the field of Psychiatry, Psychotic Social work, Nursing, Epidemiology, Biochemistry & pathology, and Clinical Psychology.
M.Phil Clinical Psychology
IOP Kolkata has 8 seats for the 2-year M.Phil Clinical Psychology program. The candidate must Pass M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology / Applied Psychology or equivalent course from any recognized University in order to be eligible for application. The candidate must score at least 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) in the above courses. M.Phil Clinical Psychology is available in group 1 of JEMAS (PG).
Application Procedure:
The Candidate should click on the “APPLY NOW” link and Register as a New Candidate. After filling us some essential details, log in to the account to fill out the complete application. The Candidate will now e able to fill in all the details and upload all the relevant Documents as asked. After the Successful payment of the application fee, the Application procedure is completed. The Last date to apply for the same is 31st January 2023 (5.30 PM).
Application fee: ₹3,000/-
Note: The upper age limit to apply for M.Phil Clinical Psychology is 40 years.
Entrance Exam Pattern
WBJEEB will conduct an OMR-based Common Entrance Test. The Question paper of IOP Kolkata will contain 100 Multiple Choice Questions for which the candidate is provided 90 minutes to solve. The Medium of the questions will be English Language only. The Examination of Group 1 which includes M.Phil Clinical Psychology is supposed to be held on 10th June 2023 (Saturday). The timing the Examination will be 11:00 am to 12:30 noon. There will be No Negative marking. The candidates may download their admit cards from 05th June 2023.
Moreover, the Entrance test contains 85% weightage of the Examination other 15% weightage is given to the personal interview round. The candidates will be provided with the details of the Interview round separately. Those who fail to appear in the interview will not be considered to be ranked in the final merit list.
