Savitribai Phule Pune University announces to conduct 39th Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH-SET) on behalf of Maharashtra & Goa states. The motive of conducting this entrance test is to determine the eligibility of the candidates of Maharashtra for the appointments of Assistant Professorship at various institutions and colleges.
Candidates, who could not clear the UGC NET examination have the good opportunity to appear for the MH-SET Examination to work in Maharashtra as an Assistant Professor in different subjects including psychology.
SET is a bit different than the UGC NET Entrance Exam. State Eligibility Test, often abbreviated as SET is a state-level test which is conducted by most Indian States to figure out the eligibility of the students for the position of Assistant Professor. On the other side, UGC NET is a Nationwide accepted exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
SET-qualified candidates are eligible to be Assistant Professor in a particular state of India. But NET-qualified candidates are eligible for the same in any college or institution (Including Central Universities) across the nation.
MH-SET Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for MH-SET, individuals must have gained Master’s Degree in Psychology from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with not less than 55% marks (without gracing or rounding off) or equivalent examination.
Candidates, who belong to OBC /SBC /DT (VJ) /NT (Non-Creamy Layer) and SC /ST /Transgender /PwD /Orphans, it is necessary to attain at least 50% marks (without gracing or rounding off) in Master’s in Psychology or equivalent examination are eligible for this entrance exam.
candidates, who have appeared for the final exam of their Master’s Degree or equivalent may also apply for this test. Such candidates would be admitted provisionally and will be considered eligible for Assistant Professor after they pass their Master’s Degree in Psychology or equivalent examination.
Note: Students in the initial year of a two-year master’s program, or the first two semesters of a four-semester master’s degree, as well as those in the fourth year of a five-year integrated master’s course, are not permitted to take this test.
Age Limit for MH-SET 2024
There is no UPPER AGE limit to apply for MH-SET 2024.

Scheme of Examination
The exam will be offline in objective-type mode. There will be two papers in the examination. Both papers will consist of objective-type MCQs in two separate sections.

Paper I will be of general nature to determine the teaching /research aptitude of the students. Paper I will be consisting 100 questions related to the discipline selected by the candidates.
Note: There will be no negative marking in the examination.

Application Process
You can apply for the MH-SET Entrance Exam via the link mentioned below. You can fill out the application form for MH-SET in online mode only. Before filling out the application, you need to register on the website by entering your details like your valid email ID, Password, etc. After getting the username and password, you need to fill out the application form.
Follow the steps to fill out the application form for MH-SET:
- Fill out the application form with essential information carefully as per the given instructions
- Review the information you provided and submit if all is correct
- Once you do this, you will get a Unique Application Number for your application
- After this, you need to upload a scanned photo (Image size should be Max: 50 KB in JPG or JPEG format) and signature photo (Max size: 30 KB in JPG or JEPG format)
- After this process, you have to make a payment of the application fee and take a print of the application form (candidates may pay the fee either by credit /debit card or Internet Banking)

Important Instructions
Before applying for MH-SET 2024, you should read some important information mentioned below.
- Individuals, who qualify the entrance test to be eligible for Assistant Professor will be governed by the rules and regulations for the recruitment.
- After the advertisement, no change will be there in the reservation for SET, if any change occurs in the reservation policy of Maharashtra & Goa states. However, there may be changes in case of court decision.
- As mentioned above, the last date of correction in particular is 7th February 2024. Nodal Agency will not entertain any request of candidates after this date.
