Applications are being invited at the University of Calcutta for admission to MPhil Clinical Psychology program. The applications are for the session 2022-2024 & 2023-25. The University of Calcutta came into existence in the year 1857. The university is considered the first Western-style institution in Asia. This university serves various undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), Doctorate, and Diploma courses in various fields including Psychology. At first, the University of Calcutta accepted the setup of the University of London. Then, it changed the setup to fit its way of doing things.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for M.Phil. Clinical Psychology at Calcutta University, the candidates must have completed M.A. /M.Sc. in Psychology /Applied Psychology /Clinical Psychology from a university /institute recognized by UGC with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
Candidates, belonging to the category to SC /ST /OBC /PwD category have been given a relaxation of 5% marks, i.e. they need to attain 50% marks in aggregate to be eligible for M.Phil. course.
Note: Candidates, who have appeared in the final year examination in their Master’s in Psychology program can also apply. They just need to provide their final year marks /grades before the date of the interview.

Exam Pattern
The exam of M.Phil. Clinical Psychology at Calcutta University will consist of 100 Marks.
- 20 MCQs will be there carrying 2 marks each (Total Marks: 40)
- 10 Short Answer Type Questions carrying 3 Marks (Total Marks: 30)
- 1 Long Answer Type Question carrying 30 Marks
Note: There will be a negative marking of ¼ Marks, i.e. 0.5 Marks in the examination. Written Examination will be considered as a qualifying exam to reach the viva voce.

Details of Viva Voce
The Board of Examiners will be conducting a viva voce of the candidates who would clear the written examination.
