The Department of Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychology of NIEPVD, Dehradun invites online applications from eligible candidates for admission to MPhil in Clinical Psychology and MPhil in Rehabilitation Psychology courses for the academic year 2024.
The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (Divyangjan) – NIEPVD, also referred to as the National Institute for the Visually Handicapped (NIVH), is situated in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It functions under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, overseen by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities of the Indian government.
NIEPVD is among seven National Institutes under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwDs), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, dedicated to enhancing the empowerment, rehabilitation, and welfare of persons with disabilities across India.
The NIEPVD Dehradun MPhil Clinical Psychology 2024 course is affiliated with Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University, New Tehri, and is recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
Eligibility: NIEPVD Dehradun MPhil Clinical Psychology
M.Phil in Clinical Psychology/ Rehabilitation Psychology
Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 55% in their Master’s degree in Psychology from a recognized University.
PGDRP (Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology)
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology with at least 55% marks overall to meet the eligibility criteria for this course.
Selection Process: NIEPVD Dehradun MPhil Clinical Psychology
A combined entrance examination will be conducted for the following programs:
- M.Phil. Clinical Psychology,
- M.Phil. Rehabilitation Psychology, and
- Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology.
They will prepare the merit list based on a single entrance exam.
Initially, seats for M.Phil Clinical Psychology will be filled according to the merit list.
Once all the seats for M.Phil Clinical Psychology are filled, the qualified students will be offered seats for M.Phil Rehabilitation Psychology.
Lastly, they will offer seats for the PGDRP program to eligible students based on their position in the merit list.

The selected students must provide the following documents during the admission process –
- Valid Government ID proof with DOB
- Class 12th mark sheet in any discipline (for Integrated M.Sc. Applied Psychology)
- Graduation mark sheet with Psychology in all three years or Postgraduation mark sheet (for PGDRP)
- Postgraduation mark sheet in Psychology (for M.Phil Clinical Psychology)
- Reservation Certificate (if applicable)
- NOC from employer (if applicable)
Application fee: NIEPVD
The application fee is as below:
- The application fee for general category applicants is Rs.3500/-
- OBC/EWS applicants must pay Rs. 2500/- as the application fee.
- SC/ST applicants need to remit Rs.2000/- for the application fee.
- PWD applicants are exempt from paying any application fee.

The structure for the courses is as given below:
M.Phil Clinical Psychology: ₹3,00,000/- (2 Years or 4 Semesters)
M.Phil Rehabilitation Psychology: ₹2,00,000/- (2 Years or 4 Semesters)
Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology (PGDRP): Rs.1,00,000/- (1 Year or 2 Semesters)
