About University:
The Government of India established the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) in Gaya as one of 54 central universities under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. Initially named the Central University of Bihar (CUB) under the Central Universities Act, 2009, the university’s name changed to the Central University of South Bihar in 2014 through the Central Universities (Amendment) Act.
The CUSB offers quality education in various disciplines, including Psychology, and provides a range of UG, PG, and research programs.

Eligibility Criteria
The Central University of South Bihar will admit students to the PhD Psychology program for AY 2024-25 following the UGC public notice. Accordingly, based on the scores obtained in UGC-NET, the candidates will be eligible in three categories.

Selection Process
- Candidates who qualify for fellowship/scholarship in UGC-NET/GATE and similar National level tests shall be eligible for admission to the PhD Programme based on an interview only.
- For candidates who qualify NET exam in Categories 2 and 3, 70% weightage will be given for NET scores and 30% weightage for the interview for admission to the Ph.D. program conducted by the University. The admission will be based on the combined merit of NET marks and the marks obtained in the Interview.
- Only shortlisted candidates shall be interviewed.
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should have a Master’s degree in Psychology with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
