The department of Psychology was established in 1967. Currently it has 9 teachers. The Library has more than 5000 books. Calcutta University is a very old and highly renowned which offers various courses in Psychology.
MA/MSc in Psychology
Eligibility; in accordance of merit in B.A. / B.Sc. Examination

PhD in Psychology
Eligibility: M.A./ M.Sc. in Psychology/ Applied Psychology; getting qualified in Ph.D. Entrance Examination/NET/SET and Course Work
Seats: As per vacancy.
Forms are generally released in the month of Feb/March.
Exam is usually conducted in the month of march.
The syllabus of this examination is the UGC NET (Paper II and III) on Psychology and the existing syllabus of M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology, University of Calcutta.
The candidates who have already passed UGC (JRF) examination/NET/SET/SLET /Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil in Psychology or equivalent examinations need not appear for the written examination.
M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology
M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology course is offered by University of Calcutta which is recognised by RCI.
55% marks in aggregate in M.A. / M. Sc. in Psychology/ Applied Psychology from any recognized University / Institute (for SC/ST/OBC category minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is required).
Candidates who have appeared in M. A. / M. Sc. final examination might apply, provided their final marks/grades reach the interview board on or before the date of interview.

NATURE OF QUESTIONS
60 multiple choice objective type questions (45 minutes) (Negative marking for wrong answers is there) and 1 essay type question (45 minutes) for the written test.
