The B.Sc Clinical Psychology (Hons.) is a 4-year full-time regular program without any midway entry and exit. The qualified professionals after this 4-year honours program will be trained to serve as frontline mental health professionals, conduct mental health promotional activities, help in the early identification, and conduct first-level psychoeducational activities for people with mental health issues.
Mental health issues are becoming a major concern worldwide, and India is not an exception. Early intervention and awareness can help reduce such issues. Considering the need for trained professionals in this field, the RCI launched the B.Sc Clinical Psychology (Hons.) course in the academic session 2024-25.
Course Objectives:
- Equip students with foundational knowledge and skills in clinical psychology.
- Prepare students to act as frontline mental health workers.
- Promote mental health awareness and early identification of psychological issues.
Upon completing the program, the trainees will be registered with the RCI as “Clinical Assistants (Clinical Psychology).” Their responsibilities include conducting mental health awareness programs, basic screening for mental illnesses, and psychoeducational initiatives.
Eligibility and Admission Process
Students who have completed their 12th standard with a science stream are eligible to apply for the program. Admissions will be conducted through entrance exams held by the respective universities or institutes.
