The University of Madras has invited online applications from eligible candidates to take admission in various Ph.D. courses including Ph.D. in Psychology course for July 2022 session. The details of eligibility and application are given below. Further details on the correct procedure to fill out the application form are given below.
The University of Madras was a result of a public petition that was filed on December 11, 1839. In January 1840, the university board was established, with Mr. George Norton as its first President. The University is structured in the same as London University. Madras University is one of South India’s oldest universities. The University manages a number of institutions and offers a variety of graduation, post-graduate, and doctoral programs through its many departments.

Name of the Course: Ph.D. in Psychology
Duration of the Course: 2 years
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program shall have passed SSLC (10th or 11th class/grade and PUC or higher secondary (12th grade) before joining the Under Graduate (UG) program (3 or more years) and UG before joining Post Graduate (PG) degree program.
That is, the candidate should have completed the PG degree program after completing UG degree in the format 10+2+UG Degree (3 or more years) or 11+1+ UG Degree (3 or more years).

After paying the Application fee the application procedure will be completed. The Department will conduct the entrance examination shortly.

Procedure for Conduct of Entrance Examination:
The Entrance Test will be held in 2 parts, a Written Examination, and Oral Examination. The Written Test will contain 35 Marks and the Oral Exam will contain 15 Marks. The Entrance will test the candidate’s research aptitude and knowledge of the subject and research methodology. The Candidate is expected to score 25 marks out of 50 Marks on the Entrance test.
