University of Calcutta MA/MSc Psychology Admission 2024 Update!
The University of Calcutta invites online applications for various postgraduate courses including MA/MSc Psychology for the academic year 2024-25. The applications for MA/MSc Psychology are available at the Faculty of Science, University of Calcutta and its affiliated colleges.
About Calcutta University
The first Psychology laboratory in India was established at the University of Calcutta only. The university is known for its rich history of psychology developments and courses in India. Calcutta University offers various courses in psychology such as MA/MSc Applied Psychology, M. Phil in Clinical Psychology (RCI recognized), and PhD in Psychology.

Seat distribution between CU and Non-CU students
80% of the total seats be earmarked for Calcutta University (C.U.) students only. This 80% of the total seat is termed as Part– “A” seat.
The remaining 20% of the total be earmarked for Non-C.U. candidates. This 20% of the total seat be termed as a Part – “B” seat.
Eligibility for University of Calcutta MA/MSc Psychology 2024
A candidate should have at least 55% marks in B.A./ B. Sc. (Hons.) in Psychology or its equivalent.
Note: Candidates who have appeared for the final year/semester examination and are awaiting results can also apply, but they must submit their mark sheet before the merit list is generated.

Selection Procedure
Admission for Part A (CU Students) will be on a merit basis whereas admission for Part 2 (Non-CU Students) will be on marks scored in an entrance test.
Merit list of candidates of Part – “A”
The merit for (Part A) will be prepared based on a percentage of marks obtained in Honours subject (Psychology).
Merit list of candidates of Part – “B”
The merit for (Part B) will be prepared based on a percentage of marks obtained in the Entrance Test.
Entrance Test will be held for PART – ‘B’ (Non-CU) candidates either by CBT (Computer Based Test) or by OMR Sheet.
The type of Entrance will be MCQ. For each right answer ‘+2’ marks and for each wrong answer ‘- 0.5’ marks will be awarded.
